Being vulnerable and opening up to friends takes work, but most men don’t have great opportunities to practice that in their daily lives. Religious communities, social clubs, and fraternal organizations, which once formed the foundation of American civic society, have fallen out of the mainstream. Now it's up to each of us to take the first step by pursuing deeper conversations with our friends and gradually rebuilding our community support system.
