Steve Jobs Is My Hero, But Elon Musk Is Tough Competition

Elon Musk has become a lightning rod in our culture, and not just for the reasons you’re probably thinking. Buying Twitter and reopening the free speech floodgates or endorsing Donald Trump for president have made him an easy target for certain political factions, but that’s not the heart of the issue. More than anything, Elon embodies individual excellence and disproves the narrative that sprawling government bureaucracies are necessary for real progress. For equity-obsessed activists and administrators, he represents a threat to both their worldviews and livelihoods. Just as my personal hero, Steve Jobs, has inspired me throughout my career to strive for excellence, Elon is positioned to inspire the next generation to dream big, overcome the victimhood mindset, and actually succeed.
