Both extremes—rigid tribalism and blank-slate utopianism—fail to account for the diversity of individuals and the universal truths that foster human flourishing. Whether it’s family structure, health, or political ideology, the proper balance lies along the “cultural bell curve,” where some behaviors are celebrated, others are tolerated or criticized, and a few are rightfully condemned. Pretending we can live without any norms in the name of “inclusivity” leads to chaos—and ultimately, tyranny. To rebuild a thriving society, we must stop chasing delusions and confront what actually works.
